Rhododendron simsii, more commonly known as Azalea White are indoor evergreen plants that flower throughout winter. These densely branched shrubs have dark green, leathery-leaved foliage, with clusters of bright white flowers that bloom throughout the festive period. About Azalea White

History

Indoor flowering Azaleas originated in China and Japan. They were introduced to Europe in the early 1800s.

Cultivation

Commercially, indoor Azaleas are brought to early flower by forcing. Forcing is artificially speeding up growth by controlling temperature and light conditions.

Care

Azaleas prefer to be kept somewhere that is cool and humid, with plenty of bright indirect light. Do not let the soil dry out completely, they prefer moist soil and a humid environment.
