To see me at my best
Put me somewhere where I can catch the less intense morning sunshine, and water me when the top of my soil dries out.
Size guide
Width | Height | Diameter | |
90cm height, 21cm pot | 40 | 90 | 21 |
Height is measured from the bottom of the plastic nursery pot (please allow a +/-10% variance). Diameter is the nursery pot diameter, so to get a pot that fits, the pot diameter should be bigger.

How to look after me
-
Light
I like bright light, but avoid direct Summer afternoon sunshine as it can burn my leaves.
-
Water
From Spring to Autumn water when the top 2-3cm of soil is dry. Water me sparingly in winter.
-
Food
Feed me once a month in spring and summer.
-
Climate
I like being in a warm room, and positioned away from heat sources and draughts. Mist me regularly.
-
Other
When I am young, repot me into a larger pot every Spring. I don't like being moved, once you have found my perfect place with my needs met, leave me to flourish there!

Things to look out for
-
Sudden leaf loss
This may be due to me being moved, so I am stressed! This may also be caused by under or over watering, or not being in my perfect temperature. -
Dark spots on leaves
Sunburn! Or leaf spot, in which case treat me with a fungicide. -
Brown leaf tips
This will be caused by low humidity, inadequate or erratic watering.
Health impacts
-
Toxicity
Toxic if ingested - keep away from pets and children. -
Air-purification
I'm very effective at removing toxins such as formaldehyde, benzene and trichloroethylene from the air.
